dreamweaver mx

New Here ,
Feb 01, 2011 Feb 01, 2011

hello,

I'm new here, and I hope someone can help me. I always use dreamweaver mx for changing something on my site. Normally no problem, but now I can't make connection. When I'm in dreamweaver, I click the connection button, there is a pop-up saying "host found, connecting", but it stands still, after a while it says "an FTP error occured-cannot make connection to host". So now I can't change anything in my site anymore, I called Adobe, but they said the version was too old to help me there, and advies me to try it here.

Thank you!

I hope someone can answer in Dutch?

First you should check your server settings to make sure that they match up with what you have set within your site definition. Since you're using FTP, you should try checking (or unchecking) the Use Passive FTP (or whatever it is labled in Dreamweaver MX) for the remote server. As MX is 6 versions old (MX, MX2004, 8, CS3, CS4, CS5) I don't have a copy handy to be able to tell how to make that change within the UI, but Sites->Manage Sites, select the site name, click Edit, and go to the Advanced tab it present, and look for Remote. You FTP settings should be there.

FYI: general Dreamweaver usage questions should be asked in the Dreamweaver general forum (more people visit it as well, increasing the lieklyhood of getting someone to see and respond to your question):
