DW 2017 :: Split view (code/code) no longer allows editing 2 different parts of same file

Before 2017 Upgrade

1. Launch file in code view

2. Activate split code view (code on top, code on bottom)

3. In top pane, be editing code in the HEAD of the document

4. In bottom page, be editing code down in the BODY of the document

5. The two panes could be scrolled and edited independently of each other

After 2017 Upgrade

1. Launch file in code view

2. Activate split code view (new option/term: "Code-Code")

3. In top pane, click into and start editing in the HEAD

4. RESULT: The bottom pane auto-scrolls to same location

5. Re-scroll bottom pane to lower code in document and click within

6. RESULT: The top pane auto-scrolls to same location

Question:

Is there any way to have split code view NOT sync the 2 panes?  A significant primary workflow for me is the requirement to be editing 2 distant portions of the same document at the same time.  Before DW 2017 i could do this.  Is there some setting i'm overlooking?

Thanks...

SEAN

Ah, looks like it was a known issue that has been fixed for the upcoming patch, according to the Bug Report forum: The split code keep jump back to the lines in the screen above or below

I have been having so many issues today after reinstalling my software... like the new styling in DW2017 forcing me to go back to DW2015 because they decided that the way we setup code highlighting was wrong and as usual adobe is right. Then not being able to enable the Split Code button in the document toolbar... I cant even find a help document on this that once existed.

yet somehow every single help thread I see, you (Nancy) respond to with the most useless responses known to man. Furthermore you are often wrong about being able to or not being able to do certain things that ANOTHER member of the staff around here need to come in and swoop a response to fix your mis-information of the public.

STOP RESPONDING TO USERS - YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT OR YOU ARE ABRUPTLY RUDE LIKE THE WAY YOU POINT PEOPLE TO SUBMIT A BUG OR FEATURE REQUEST. F OFF.

This is a user-to-user forum sponsored by Adobe. As such we are all in the same boat sailing along with the same wind, waves and current. You have singled out the most valuable member of this forum, one that understands our problems. Nancy points to a way that is much more effective to solve perceived problems than by merely posting emotional arguments to a crew that can do absolutely nothing about them.

Because this question has been answered and because the lines of civility are being crossed, I am closing this topic. If anyone thinks this is in error, please PM me.

I can confirm the new, totally useless behavior under Windows 7 as well.

This has got to be another bug.

Make sure to report it here: Feature Request/Bug Report Form
