Every time I make a change to the code on a page in DW, it prompts me to Save.

How do I turn this awful feature off?

Thank you.

It shouldn't do it if you're only have Code View open.

However it will still do it, even if you are only working in the Code View side of a Split with Live View. Live View can't be involved in any way.

If you only have Code View open, and it's still asking to save after each edit, you may want to try restoring preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html

That is normal while working on .php pages with Live View turned on.

Switching to Design View allows you to work without the constant interruption.

I'm in Code View.  I don't use Live View or Design View as they don't work with dynamic Bootstrap layouts.

Is this a feature I can switch off as it is seriously hampering workflow.  If I want to save the document, I'll run Ctrl+S!  🙂

Thank you.

I'm not sure who marked this as the correct answer - it certainly wasn't me - but this isn't the correct answer.

Although it was not me that gave the correct answer, I believe that Jon's answer is the correct one. I have been there and done that. If Jon's answer has not helped you, then you have not followed his directions..

Another option, change the page extension from .php to .html.

As Jon said, turn Design view on before going to Code view.
