For you professional out there, this will probably be an easy answer.  I'm always updating my Dreamweaver, so currently have Dreamweaver CC, I believe 2019 release.  I recently brought in some files (html) from an old website that was created using CS6.  I need to update some of the pages, but can't figure out how to add text.  It used to be so easy.  Ideas? Jim

You're likely in Live View. To change text there, you need to double-click the text block.

Switching to Design View would most likely bring it back to what you remember.

If you don't see the Code | Split| Live toolbar, go to Window > Toolbars > Document and make sure it's checked.

That sounds suspiciously like  legacy  Fluid Grid Layouts were used in CS6.  Unfortunately, the failed FGL feature was removed from DW about 4-5 years ago.  There's no support for it in the latest version of DW CC without a lot of workarounds.   The best advice I have is  don't use FGL if you can avoid it.  If you can't re-build,  revert  back to CS6 when working on those projects.
