File Corruption - Background-Image in CSS HTML tag

After this most recent Dreamweaver update, I am experiencing corruption and CSS execution distortion in my .html files when I insert the background-image: url() tag in the attached CSS file.  It does not matter what file I use as the background or if I am on a different computer.  I have even retyped both files and checked them for errors.  Has anyone experienced this?  If so, what is the solution?

What do you mean by corruption?

What is actually happening and how does it differ from expectations?

Could you post a link to your work in progress so we can see what's happening in our browsers?
