Filter Multi-Select List

New Here ,

I have a list of 150 Chemicals for the user to choose from. They need to be able to choose multiple chemicals. But, for them to scroll through 150 chemicals is tedious.

I thought of creating a select-menu displaying the alphabet, (example: A-D, D-J, and so forth). Then, if they choose "E-H" a multi-select list would appear for them to choose from all the chemicals that begin with "E,F,G,and H". Then they select the chemicals they want and press the "move" button to move the chemicals to a final box.

How do I do this? I have done SOOOOO much research online and via books on how to do this and can not find any answers. Please help. I am a TOTAL beginner, so please be detailed with your steps.

Thank you
