Hello,

Hi, I am looking for a php / ajax (or whatever works) form uploader with email notification and text fields for messages that I can place on clients website so that they can receive large art files from their clients.

I recently built this .php image uploader (( www.baboodigital.com (click 'submit your job')) for said client - however, it seems to 'stall' on uploads, not every time, but once in every 5 or 10.  Could be the server but hosted with Godaddy and am told servers are currently running fine. Have run into so many dead ends with this, and prefer to start fresh with a new uploader.

Would anybody be able to provide a link to an uploader that is preferably not a pay-per-month subscription? I may go with uploadthingy.com but they are $20 a month, prefer something cheaper, or better yet, free!

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Talk to GoDaddy.  On a shared hosting environment, 1GB file uploads could be a problem.

PHP sets limits, Apache has limits, most web hosts have their own limits.  And there's the /tmp directory size limit which could be set by user permissions on a shared host. Not to mention just running out of server space...

Maybe you could set-up a Guest FTP account for your clients to use.

Also look at YouSendIt.com.  They accept files up to 2GB and currently offer an affordable annual subscription rate of $49.95.

Thanks Nancy. Talked to Godaddy yesterday, they can only guarantee 40mg files where as iPower.com (iPowerweb) supports uploads up to 1GB! Yousendit wouldn't work in this case because the form needs to be embedded into the site, wouldn't it be nice if they created that

We did chagne the php limits to expand to 1GB, hopefully by changing hosts this problem can be resolved. Thanks !
