I used the product a few years ago to get out website up and running. I have not updated it in years and changed laptops so I had to re-install everything, and when I am trying to reconnect the site it tells me it is getting an FTP error cannot make connection with the host.
Not sure how to get the new installation of Dreamweaver cs6 to connect with my remote server which has the website on it in order to make changes to the pages.

Can you try using your login credentials in a standalone FTP client like FileZilla to rule out that anything has changed on the host end and that your credentials and setup work? If that test fails you will need to contact your host as it may be possible they changed their setup (ie: moved to SFTP/FTPS, required SSL, etc.).

In that case, are you certain you have the correct server log-in credentials? I ask because they often change when servers are moved or upgraded by the hosting provider. If unsure contact your host. See screenshot.
