How to:dynamic links and passing paramaters

Hello everyone, I am new to dreamweaver and need your expertise in doing dynamic links. I prefer JSP but PHP is fine.

1. How do you pass a parameter to another page from a dynamic navigation menu. I want to pass an entry from the resultset.
2. How do you accept the passing parameter at the target page?
3. How do you troubleshoot?

Please point me to the right location where information or examples can be found.
