This should be an eye opening period in the coming few weeks - 'W' It's going to be interesting to see if the few die hard supporters of certain extensions around here and those that shout out for server-side tools to be re-introduced are going to abandon DW. It sounds a bit Muse like-ish on steriods, in any case the rhetric, as far as I can determine at the minute, it's not for coders, so it's probably going to suit the demographic of this forum quite well.
Happy days - the more the merrier.

Just an observation that i often make concerning this type of discussion, (also just one of the many reasons i think pre-release is a waste of time and space).
It is interesting that no one ever from Adobe, ever makes any comments, or replys to anything written by anybody.
That probably also explains why dmxzone made the decission to produce their own product.
All too scared to speak out incase they loose their jobs.....I'd say all bar none are in the pockets of the hierarchy who of course hide behind their 'mothers' skirts. Those at the top have sent messages down to the field warriors to try to gag me on the pretence that I was using inappropriate language and critically analysing the situation because I felt those responsible were not doing their job effectively or efficiently........truth sometimes really hurts, corruption at the top is still very much alive. Honestly is still very much honourable.
Still I'd rather be discussing products of the future not something stuck in the past, so I shall pass judgement at some stage.
DMXZone are wise, covering all angles. If by chance DW did go by the wayside then they would not as they now have a product/s which will not soley rely on DW to work.

Nowt to do with this but when did VS Code change their logo. I just see the icon updated on my desktop and thought WTF is that! I don't like it when icons just change without prior notification!

hello Al,
perhaps my frenglish drives confusions in my words, so please don't hesitate to arise it, I will try to precise my thoughts
Your English is fine... as your diplomatic skills.
Consider these points:
1. The frequent posters in this forum, especially the ones endorsed by Adobe, should be avid Dreamweaver users.
2. I have an actual user base, compromised of many thousands of Dreamweaver users from which to formulate assumptions.
3. For a business owner wanting to control his or her own site, Dreamweaver is a good choice, and extensions are an investment, especially when they come with full one-on-support, a rarity in this day and age and one not available to WordPress users or Dreamweaver users (unless you want to deal with someone in India working from a script).
This forum should be a community of Dreamweaver users. Coding is anathema to the typical Dreamweaver user. It always has been. Adobe is lost and incompetent, and will never see the light unless they see it online. This community, and the beta forums, can determine Dreamweaver's future. But historically, you need to go back more than a decade to where the community had a real purpose, and a real voice. I blame the communities of users for Dreamweaver's failures.

your point 1 -
My first priority is to the developer, not Adobe, and if this means loosing my ACP status so be it.
point 2-
Yes i can see the point of someone doing that, but with Dw costing the equivalent of $350.00 per year here in europe, plus the cost of extensions, i would have thought it was the expensive option, unless of course they are using an old perpetual version CS6 or earlier.
As for the pre-release or cab determining Dw's future, best joke i have heard this year.

LOL. Obviously you read what you wanted to see, and did not pick up on my meaning. My point was that the Beta forum users, as well as many of the Adobe sanctioned/endorsed contributors on this forum, ARE THE REASON Dreamweaver has lost its way.

I resent that, Al. This forum has very few ACP/MVP contributors. You can count them on 1 hand.
From what I've seen in the past, management makes ALL the decisions -- often well-ahead of the beta testing cycle. I don't think any of my fellow ACPs have any influence whatsoever. That's one reason I opted out of this year's pre-release program.

Thank you Nancy, with a few exceptions the fact that everything is decided before it gets to the dev team, CAB or pre-release, is why i do not think most people involved below senior managment level is responsible for anything.
It is also why i think some users should be involved in the initial new feature decission making process, (before programming starts) but CAB members should be excluded from that group, and no one chosen should be part of the process for more than 2 years. How they would be chosen is another question.

Definitely Adobe's loss, Nancy. You are one of the value-added, class acts on this form.

Thanks for your kind words, Chris. Perhaps next year I'll have more time & energy for pre-release. This year's just wasn't in the cards for me.

Just a thought, but if the Dw forum questions are anything to go by, (especially those by none coders) then dmx are going to have to expand their current user forums to include more people with experiance of the product(s).
I wonder if they have planned for that from day 1?

Well that is just a natural progression. You will get some who will embrace the product, assuming its any good and become 'expert' The forum (I didnt know they had one) will just expand naturally to include the product.
I don't know if it will have a coding environment in addition to the visual environment, if it does I may well take it for a spin if not then its just another product for amatuers, like muse or wicks or anyone of the other myriad of point and click junk you can name.
