Is it me, or are Adobe CC apps getting extremely "Heavy"?

Seems to me, each release of an Adobe CC application gets heavier and heavier - in particular, Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

These applications now take 1-2 minutes to completely load and open. If I open an older version, BAM, it loads pretty quickly.

Just wondering if others out there have noticed this? Or if there are any preferences that can be set to minimize load time?

Thanks for any info!

Actually, I've noticed the exact opposite, especially in DW.

DW2017 opens and closes much, much faster than CC2015 for me under Windows 7. I'm still using CC2015 until they fix all the bugs in 2017, but I have it installed so I can familiarize myself with the new menus and features. It opens in a 10th the time of CC2015 and closes when I click the X, unlike 2015 which seems to have a mind of its own when closing the app. Sometimes it closes immediately, other times it may take several minutes, even on my "fix the closing issue work-around" blank site.

Go to the PS and AI forums, everybody is complaining about how slow they have become. I deleted the entire CC 2017 and re-installed CC 2015. I will gladly forgo a new unnecessary feature (i.e. online templates) in favor of performance.

After my experience with DWCC2017, I've decided to forego installing any other CC2017 app until after at least the first round of patches is released.

I don't have time to work with beta software in my production environment.

And I'm not thrilled about Adobe canning their Extension Manager - now I have three different Extension managers from three different vendors. Haven't had any luck using the Adobe "ADD ONs" process with DW 2017. Things really seem to be a mess - I understand why people are rolling back to 2015CC and even CS6 - production software shouldn't have so many issues.

If you have anything other than "English - North American" as the language setting in your Creative Cloud Desktop App, you can't install extensions in DWCC2017 yet. It's one of the many known issues with the latest version:

2017 Dreamweaver is very fast for me on Win10.

Photoshop has always taken a while to load going back as far as I can remember.  However once loaded, PS 2017 is a lot more stable for me than the previous 2 versions were.

I think a lot depends on your OS, memory, graphics cards, scratch disk space, add-ons and other factors like anti-virus, and personal system settings.   If everyone used exactly the same hardware, software & peripherals, we would  never have these discussions.

Nancy - yep - I realize it all has to do with memory, setup, etc - the only reason I posted it is because I'm comparing previous versions on the exact same machine - and it's significantly longer on the 2017 version.

Even certain "improved" features in Photoshop are crazy slow - for instance, in PS 2017 if you do the FILE - EXPORT - function - it takes far longer than if I do the FILE - EXPORT - Save for Web (Legacy) option...almost as if their old code base is "lighter" - heck in PS 2017 even FILE - NEW takes too long to pop up.
