I bought what I had thought was a legitimate version of CS6 back in 2019, only to get a notification from Adobe that the serial number was void and the program would stop working in ten days.
Drat I said and then decided to use the subscription model (which I hate) and see what Adobe has to offer now.
Installing the new Dreamweaver went OK, but it isn't ANYTHING like the CS6 version and I can't figure out how to use it to do what I could do quickly and easily with CS6.
Most frustrated that I can't go back to earlier versions of Dreamweaver that I am familiar with - I don't want to spend a week or two getting up to speed with the latest version if possible - I have other things to do with my time.

CS6 hasn't been available since early 2017 when Adobe ended Creative Suite and rebuilt Dreamweaver.
As a code editor, DW CC still works much the same as at always did, only the appearance changed to keep up with modern web changes like HTML5, CSS and responsive web design.
Other versions of Dreamweaver might still be available but they're not supported anymore. And I'm not sure a previous version of CC will help you much. You'll still need to reckon with an unfamiliar interface.

Thanks, I was having trouble getting DW to look like the CS-6 version - which I solved by going to the 2020 version and set it up. Now it looks like it will do what I need.
Thanks for the links, those will be helpful
I was frustrated because I thought I had purchased a legit copy of DW CS-6 (turns out it wasn't - but it took 4 years for this revelation to arise!), and to have to switch to your subscription model has always been a struggle for me - I prefer to get a program, run it for years until it no longer works on my newer computers, then and only then upgrade. I am not someone who tries to build the latest and greatest - I want to just pold along with something that I know how it works, and I don't need new addons normally.
Security is a good reason for upgrades of course, but I can't see DW needing much in the way of security updates!
I have some subscriptions for things like payroll and other government interfaces where the data process may change a couple of times in a year and keeping that up to date matters for my business.
Anyway, thanks!

What goes on behind the scenes is every bit as important as locking your doors at night.
When outdated software can't connect to your hosting server, you're stuck. For this reason, nobody can afford to use outdated web software. Dreamweaver 21.3 was last updated with these security enhancements. https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/whats-new/2022-1.html
