Payment Gateway, need help...

Question

Heya,
 So I have worked through a tutorial and created a PHP &
MySQL driven shopping cart (

) and am now wanting to set this up with a Payment Gateway. I've
really only worked with Paypal in this department but I'm
attempting to do this from the ground up.
 My goal is to have the user to remain on pages hosted &
written by me, I want them, obviously, to be secure & I want
the transaction to be instant & seamless. Can anyone help?

Here's what I 
think I need:
SSL Certificate
Merchant Bank Account
Account with a Payment Gateway (such as Authorize.net)

You can complete your goal with PayPal but assuming you don't want
that route, you might look at Cartweaver.com which now has a special
relationship with AuthorizeNet and makes obtaining the merchant account
and gateway connection easier and less expensive. For an SSL you might
first check to see if the proposed host has in relationships going. Other
wise
look at http://www.instantSSL.com
