Sorry. I'm not sure what you mean. There is a Document Toolbar for switching
from Code | Split | Live / Design view.
The last View used is the one that's remembered.

Hi Nancy,
So i have been testing this and can explain what is happening in detail. I'm talking about View > Live View Options > hide live view displays. This turns on or off all of the visual aids in live view: mostly outlines of all my elements. For me, this is an important setting. I need to toggle this to easily see what my page looks like - that's a pretty basic, primal need - without those guides. Before Live View, it was View > Design View Options > Visual Aids > Hide All. So this newer setting is, to me, parallel of that old hide visual aids setting for design view.
I understand preview in browser, and the new real-time preview. I should be able to easily see the raw document in DW before switching to a browser, thus, Hide Live View Displays.
Here's my issue: I am constantly having to go to this because it won't stay off.
Files don't remember this setting. When it is selected - the live view displays hidden - and a file is closed, and reopened, they are visible again. (That makes some sense to me, as it's not a part of the file. maybe it could work like that, but it doesn't.)
That being said, maybe the setting would work app-wide - that's more of expected behavior i think. But it doesn't.
Also, i have noticed this setting switching itself back on at random times. I have duplicated this: When i create a CSS selector in CSS Designer, and add a property to it, upon pressing enter for that property, the setting is back on. Is this a bug? I made a screen vid:
The last View used is the one that's remembered.
you were referencing the document views - code | split | live - which is not the same thing. And, it's not true either. It always opens to Live View, even if my last view was code, or split.
So, for me, DW never remembers when i have that Hide Live View Displays set to off, nor does it even remember the last view i used. On top of that DW turns this setting back on as i described above. I hope all this made sense. It is quite frustrating.
thanks,
ben

it's massively disappointing that no one has any reply to this.
