Correct answer Nancy OShea

Moving programs from one computer to a new one rarely works.  You must run the installation routine from disks or downloads with a user account that has admin level permissions.   And you will need your old serial number to activate all Creative Suite 4-6 products.

If you were using Creative Suite 2 or 3, those activation servers were taken offline.

See the help articles below for details on how to obtain a replacement version & new serial number that does not require activation.

Keep in mind that legacy Creative Suite software may work fine on your new computer but it is not certified to run on the newest operating systems.

Which version of Dreamweaver are you on? Did you register your site with Adobe? If so, you can log into your account and look for the serial number.

If you have your purchase details with you, you can contact customer support Contact Customer Care for further assistance.

Thanks,
