SFTP Problem since update on DW18

Hi Everybody,

Since the update on DW18, my saved connections via SFTP dont work anymore. FTP still works.

Error says

An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. Your login or password is incorrect

It worked before the update and it still works with Filezilla with the same settings ...

Does anybody have an idea?

Is it possible I could also have access to the prerelease build? I'm having issues with all the passwords for my sftp sites not saving and having to reenter them every time.

but the prerlease is open to everyone, you just have to log and connect with your adobe ID... from there you'll be able to download the latest builds.

We're having the same issues, still getting the same errors in the pre-release

Works fine through the terminal or through transmit on osx.

Were you able to test the SFTP connections by testing it with the prerelease build.

Hi Mahak,

Thank you the link to the prerelease worked, I have downloaded and installed Dreamweaver CC Next but it hasn’t fixed the problem. I can still connect fine with Filezilla, but Dreamweaver won’t connect to 1and1 via SFTP.

Also, it would be great if you could share a little more info with us:

Could you please share the list of Ciphers, MACs and KexAlgorithms which well help us debug the issue.

Also, are you using a free account or enterprise account.

And, for the connection are you using username password or private key file.Refer screenshot.

If private key file, i hope you are using .pem file, as Dreamweaver does not support .ppk file.

If you are not sure on how to get the list of Ciphers, MACs and KexAlgorithms , please follow the following instructions:

• For Mac: in the terminal itself, type the command sftp -vvv username@hostname
• For win, install git bash and type the command sftp -vvv username@hostname

After the connection is successful, you will get the details of the server. You can share them with me on my email id: kudyar@adobe.com

Or if you can also share your email id, that would be great to communicate.

Dreamweaver 18.2 is live. It can be downloaded from creative cloud Desktop application.

It includes the SFTP connection issue fix, Please refer to release notes:

CAn you please share more details on this.

What error you are seeing , any snapshot or gif would help.

Also, it would be great if you could share below info with us. It will help in debugging us better:

• Hosting provider used
• List of ciphers, Mac's, Kex algorithms.
• Are you able to connect to other clients say filezilla, putty.
• In Dreamweaver, what is your connection mechanism.., is it username/password or through identity file.
• If identity file, make sure you rae using .pem and not .ppk file.

I'm attaching a couple a screencaps showing the error that I'm receiving when trying to connect to my hosting provider.  I've contacted them concerning the ciphers, Mac's, and Kex algorithms and will reply with that info once I receive a response.  To answer your other inquiries:

Cart32.com = hosting provider

I am able to connect fine using the current version of Filezilla.

DW connection mech is user/pass

This error is generated when trying to connect from within DW itself.

This error is generated when clicking the "Test" button within the Manage Sites dialog box.

I have verified that the username and password are correct.  Like I stated above, I can connect fine and update the website with Filezilla.  Thank you for your assistance.
