Hi,
I am totally new to DW. See a lot of discussion about SPRY, wondering what it is.

Instead of copy and pasting it from the website ill just give you an
url.
Also Spry discussions should belong the appropriate Spry forum.
Not Dreamweaver extensions.

I don't mean to be argumentative, .V1, but newbies sometimes need a little more information.
You've said that Spry discussion belong in the appropriate Spry forums. Fair enough. But I'm new to these forums, and can't for the life of me find anything in the Forum list called a "Spry Forum." There are forums for all of the Adobe products, but nothing that breaks down into any Spry-specific sub-forums - at least that I can find.
When you go to the main page of the Forums and click the drop-down list to choose a forum, Spry is not listed there. There are no Spry sub-forums in the Dreamweaver forum.
If I do a search in the forums for "Spry", there are posts all over the place, in all kinds of forums - lots and lots in the Dreamweaver forum, where nobody has said, "Hey, take it elsewhere!" as you have here, and a forum called Spry Framework for AJAX (prerelease), which I assume is for questions about the Spry Framework for AJAX, and not general questions. Other than that one, I can't find a specifically Spry forum anywhere. There are also many Spry discussions in this forum, and nobody has suggested the thread be moved elsewhere.
We're not stupid or lazy, we're just new. So, if there are any forums in which Spry questions are more acceptable than here, could you please give us a break and add a link to help us find it?
Thanks. ![]()

If you go the link i provided theres a big green box saying : Discuss Spry in the Labs forums . click, and your there.
As Spry is still in "prerelease" its hosted in the "labs" forums.

Spry is product/application in depended, it does ship with Dreamweaver but you can also use it with out Dreamweaver. Its also included in the Aptana Studio package for example but you can also just use notepad to code it.

Thats why I tell you that there is separated forum for Spry discussions. Spry posts are all over place and it would be better if they sticked to one forum. And yes the Spry forum is for Spry questions, but that was what your question was about.

I don't say you are stupid or lazy, i just provided the answer to your questions which was more information about Spry, I just pointed you the right direction. http://www.adobe.com/go/labs_spry_pr1_forum

I didn't mean to mis-lead you, .V1. I am not the person who created the original post looking to find out what Spry is. But anyone as new as that person stated would not have a clue that Spry was not part of Dreamweaver, so it was completely natural to post a first question here.
I felt your response was terse and less than helpful because you berated the poster for not using the Spry Forum, but did not provide a link to that forum so that he/she could move there to continue asking questions.
You state,

I went to the link you provided - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/. I did NOT see a "big green box." I did see a small box with a green header that included a link that said, "Discuss Spry in the Labs forums." Labs forums? Sounds to someone like me to be some place that experienced/advanced developers go to discuss esoteric, in-depth programming issues. Not a place where someone would go to ask, "What is Spry?" Or, "Why doesn't my menu work?" Adobe's web content writers need to learn to think like new users and lay off the jargon.
I came here looking for help with a Spry menu, created in Dreamweaver, that isn't working in any Windows browsers - just Mac browsers. Since I created the menu in Dreamweaver, the Dreamweaver forum seemed like the logical place to start. Boy was I wrong, and through your response to the previous poster you sure let me know it!! I was hoping this thread would point me in the right direction, but that wasn't the case. You left out a LOT of information that would have been helpful - information you included in your next post. It's a shame you couldn't have said all that to begin with instead of making us guess. I felt embarrassed for coming here to look for help.
Of course I understood WHY you said there was a Spry forum that was better suited for this discussion. I just didn't understand why you wouldn't also include the link to that forum. And so I asked you.
And you answered with the information I needed - thank you. ![]()
