Urgent help needed before I smash up my computer

I have been redoing my website trying to get Lightbox to work. So far it never has - just get images opening in a new page rather that working how it should. I just found lightbox gallery web widget (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1744525#) and it worked perfectly, but I was adjusting some things in the code, just background colour and stuff and it was working for about 2 days, but then I must have moved a file and it just opens up in a new page again!!!! I have tried deleting it, but it must keep whatever information it had when I download and install it again coz it doesn't work now. I have a few lightbox files saved in my folder and dont want to delete any in case it makes the one I am using temporarily, stop working. I am now using the Thickbox gallery from the same place but it doesn't look as good and sometimes doesn't work.

Please if anyone knows how to get it to work again or how to get lightbox to actually work please tell me coz I am getting so annoyed and fed up with this. If not I might end up just trying to wipe my whole website and start from scratch which I dont want to do but it's the only thing I can think of.

Mainly just want to find out how to get the Lightbox Gallery web widget to work again - does anyone know what I should do?

My guess without seeing your page is that you have a misplaced/extra opening or closing tag in your code. When you run your page code through these validation tools, do you see any errors?

Hi. Thanks for those links, will try them if I have problems again, but I decided to restart from scratch since I hadn't done too much. My files also needed re-organizing because I had too many and hadn't named all of them properly.
