The W3C and WHATWG have announced that the WHATWG is to maintain and define the standards for html and dom from now on.

The W3C will retain control over what level of recommendation, (WD to Rec) the html/dom standard has achived.

it's good that the process is finally officialized. since the time that thanks to WhatWg the web has finally advanced and really become an application....
