CC is only available via Creative Cloud subscription. If you have a subscription, you simply log into the program with the Adobe ID you used to purchase it. Ever since Adobe switched to the Creative Cloud subscription delivery method, activation keys and serial numbers no longer exist for those programs in the Creative Cloud suite.

Sorry for reviving a three year old thread, but I kinda need to vent, right now.

WHY IN THE HELL would any company remove the ability to activate a product by entering a license key????

Sure, per Jon's instructions, a user could just log on to the cloud using the account that purchased the product and activate it that way.

But what about government orgs or private sector corporations that purchase, en masse, for hundreds or thousands of users to be able to use the product?  Am I to believe that each and every installed copy of said software needs to have one person authorized to access said account go to each terminal and log on to the cloud to activate the product????

What kind of business model is that?

Rant over.  Thank you.

Thank you for the rant, but Adobe does cater for the large corporations, etc, that require multiple versions and mass installations. It is called an enterprise subscription, and one can purchase any number of licences without requirering each computer user to activate via an individual or team subscription, (even has stand alown installers) or the CC app.

Thanks for that, pziecina.  But we have a new employee who is using a system that has been unused for over six months.  Photoshop was working when the previous user left.  New employee opens Photoshop CC 2015 to be greeted by "License has expired.  Sign in or start trial" message.  With no way to enter the key Software Asset Management provided.  So, what now?  If we have to wait for the account holder to come to this system and log in to activate it, we could be waiting for weeks.  Any suggestion?

A single user can install CC programs on any number of computers if they like, but they can only be logged in (have functioning programs) on two machines at a time.

If the previous user logged out of the machine you're trying to use, either at the time they left, or through their CC account at Adobe, all you need to do is open the CC Desktop Application and log in with a new UN/PW from a different, up-to-date subscription.

If you're talking about something other than Creative Cloud Software, then you have a different issue. Old CS licenses didn't "expire", but many are being "revoked" due to illegal third party selling of volume license seats. It turns out the "too good to be true" pricing from random software sites actually was too good to be true. Adobe has been deactivating illegally sold volume licenses which has a trickle down effect on people who were duped into buying them.

If it is an enterprise account that your company has, then the procedure is not the same as single or team subscriptions that use the CC app.

Check, (as Jon says) that the old user has logged off the computer, and that the network if the computer is connected to one is not recognising the computer as belonging to the old user, (who will have had, (or should have) all privalages revoked, and no longer be a registered user of the Adobe software). You then need to assign the computer to then new user, and be assigned a new account id for the Adobe enterprise software.

However, whoever is your IT manager or the contact person for the enterprise account should do all this anyway.

This is incorrect. Certain license codes are registered through government services or businesses. It is incredibly difficult to find where to input the code, but I finally found the link. Subscription codes can be redeemed through this link: creative.adobe.com/redeem
