Change Dreamweaver UI language to Simplified Chinese

How do I change the UI language in Dreamweaver CC to Simplified Chinese? Illustrator and Photoshop are fully in Chinese but Dreamweaver is mostly still in English. A few parts are in Chinese. It seems like Adobe haven’t actually added full Chinese UI support for Dreamweaver. I have selected 简体中文 on the Creative Cloud tab of Adobe CC settings. Still all English when I delete/reinstall Dreamweaver.

Hi lukejanicke,

We did check with our localization team and got to know that Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional and Korean are not supported on Mac. Same is mentioned in system requirements page

System requirements for Dreamweaver

Also the panels you are seeing in Chinese are coming from libraries or services that are supported in Chinese.

Based on Preran's note about not seeing this specific issue before, I would say try using the Adobe Cleaner Tool followed by a fresh re-install. The Cleaner Tool will get rid of files that can stay behind during a normal uninstall/reinstall that might be affecting the new installation in weird ways.

You can find the Cleaner Tool here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Thank you, Jon.

Meanwhile, we are also checking with our localization teams to see if this is a bug that has to be addressed.

Have you tried contacting Adobe's Customer Care directly?

Contact Customer Care

They should be able to have a technician investigate what's going on and why your UI would be in both languages. It could be something simple, like a corrupt file, but may be something else (like a known bug in the language-version you're using).

That's a good suggestion, Jon.

Meanwhile I am also checking with the product team to see if they have seen an issue like this previously. Because I haven't heard of anything similar previously, I am more inclined to believe that this issue is specific to the user's installation of the product.

Thanks,

Preran

Hi

Can you try the steps here

Step 1

Open Dreamweaver; if you plan to work on a project now, you can create a new page or open an existing page.

Step 2

Select "File," "Preferences" or press "Control" + "U" to bring up the Preferences dialog box.

Step 3

Navigate to the "General" tab on the left side of the dialog box. At the bottom of the box, you'll see a command called "Spelling Dictionary" with a drop-down menu next to it.

Step 4

Select the desired language from the "Spelling Dictionary" drop-down menu. Click "OK" to save your changes.

Step 5

Change the language back to English using this same process when you're finished editing your web pages in the foreign language.

Sorry. That doesn’t help. The list of dictionary languages is in Chinese (one of the few random places where the Dreamweaver UI is in Chinese). But neither Simplified Chinese nor Traditional Chinese are options in the list. Anyway, how would changing the dictionary language affect the UI language of the app?

According to the OP's 3rd post (with screen shots), they did change it per the usual instructions, but the program itself doesn't appear to be translated completely from English as both English and Chinese are showing  in the UI.

Products gets installed in the language selected in thor. As directed by Nancy, change your language in Thor and then install DW. That should install in Chinese Simplified language.

Sorry. That is not the correct answer. As I explained in my original post, I already selected 简体中文 on the Creative Cloud tab of Adobe CC settings before downloading Dreamweaver CC (2017). Dreamweaver is still in English. Below are screenshots of Creative Cloud Preferences, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. You can see that everything is in Chinese except for Dreamweaver.

Creative Cloud… all in Chinese.

Lightroom… all in Chinese.

Photoshop… all in Chinese.

Illustrator… all in Chinese.

Dreamweaver… mostly in English but randomly in Chinese in a few places.
