Does Dreamweaver 2021 convert xhtml to html5? If there is such a fuction, please let me know where I can find the command.

It's best to start with a fresh, new HTML5 document that's free of deprecated code and errors. 

Go to File > New > HTML > Doc type: HTML5.  Hit the Create button.

Thank you for these suggestions! I thought Dreamweaver 2021 should have  better function for converting the code than CS5. I start fresh.

I can't think of a single code editor that converts XHTML to HTML5.  That's what the human brain is for 🙂
