By default the Document and Live View Windows are linked so that whenever you select an element in one window the other window relocates to the same place.
I find this is particularly annoying, and would love to be able to have them behave independently of each other with some facility for the user to synchronize them manually (perhaps with a right click command).
Is this possible?
If not, are there others out there who feel the same and would like to see this facility added in the future?
Not exactly, no when using Split View in the Document Toolbar, they're always connected. But you can still get them separated (though selecting something in Code will always highlight it in Design/Live)...
1. Go to Window > Code Inspector and open the Code Inspector window
2. Pull it away from the application frame by clicking and dragging the named tab (if it's locked to the application frame)
3. Click the Live or Design option in your Document Toolbar to turn off Split view
