Export fw.png to another format

Hello, I have a map in a fw.png format containing many layers and many objects. Is there any way to export this from FW to something Illustrator will be able to use that preserves the layers and objects with in the and the ability to be able to edit them?

You can export to an older AI format, you can also try exporting from Fireworks to 'FXG and images' format and then try importing the FXG into Illustrator ... It all depends on what version of Illustrator you are using .... If you can get download  a copy Illustrator CS6 that offers the best interoperability between Fireworks. You can even copy and paste vectors between Fireworks CS6 and Illustrator CS6.
