I recently purchased a new laptop. I have a registered version of Fireworks with the serial number but cannot figure out how to install it on the new laptop. Is there a way to install Fireworks without having to subscribe to Creative Cloud for $$$ a year?
1 Correct answer
I have tested Fireworks CS6 on a Windows 11 machine, and confirmed that it works.
Here are the steps:
- download the Fireworks installer at https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html
- Extract the contents of that file to a folder.
- Run the installer. When it asks select : "I have a serial number".
- Agree to the license and enter your serial number.
- Install & run
From the quick testing that I did it seems to run fine on Windows 11.

Fireworks is discontinued & unsupported software from 10+ years ago.
To reinstall, you'll need a supporting computer & OS that's compatible with 10 year old (32-bit) software. Find your original installation disks/downloads that you received at purchase. Insert disk into your optical reader, and run the installer. When prompted, enter your valid serial number.
Hope that helps. Good luck!

Well, wether we like it or not, and even though there have been no changes since its purchase, FW is now part of the CC, and as such, it needs valid code to be launched.
Anyway, do you still have an original CD-Rom, and a CD player ? have you tried to install it from this support, for our part with virtual machines as https://www.oracle.com/fr/virtualization/virtualbox/... (some folks mention Parrallels under MacOS https://www.parallels.com/fr/) but we haven't tried this last one here at the studio... only Virtual Box... anyway, FW runs quite well under VM here... directly from CS6 CD... and to tell the truth, I don't remember if a CC validation was requested

Thank you for the replies. I do not have disks. I purchased the software as a downloadable product in 2013. The receipt says "You can log back into My Adobe in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number." Now do I have to pay for Creative Cloud to re-download the software that I already paid for? I'm not interested in any other Creative Cloud apps. Thanks in advance.

Regarding direct download links on Pro Design Tools' website, be sure to follow the VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS otherwise you'll receive errors from Adobe's servers.
Owing to version and language differences, the direct installers on Pro Design Tools' website may not work with everyone's serial number. Volume licenses and some Educational versions are not supported.
Finally, Adobe has recently removed installers from their servers. Users in other boards have reported that some links don't work and this was confirmed by Jim at Pro Design Tools.
Good luck!

Hi - I'm assuming we're talking about a Windows Installer, the offline installers from ProDesignTools are links to genuine Adobe installers located on Adobe server, as such you need to set an Adobe cookie first by visiting this page and logging in with your Adobe credentials, if you do NOT have an Adobe login, you can create one for free

To answer your question about Creative Cloud, it depends.
In the absence of CS6 installers, you would need to purchase a Creative Cloud ALL APPS plan. And only if your computer can support BOTH Creative Cloud desktop app and legacy 32-bit FW installers (modern Macs can't).

If all you need is to convert layered PNG files to other file types, look at this online converter.
- Photo Pos Pro: https://www.photopos.com
EDIT: Corrected URL is https://www.photopea.com/

Photo pos pro? That seems to be a junk website. And it is not an online converter.
Nancy, do you mean Photopea instead? Because as far as I am aware, that is the only other image editing tool that supports layered Fireworks png files.

We haven't tested on W11... but on W10 it worked... at least you could install a VM (https://www.oracle.com/fr/virtualization/)... install an old Windows OS (the one you have on shelves...)... and then get FW from Pro Design, https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html (down the page you will find appropriate links...) and there you are...
then as @rayek.elfin told you https://www.photopea.com/ is a fantastic tool...
