Fireworks is asking for a serial number and says "my trial has ended"

I have a full CC subsciption and yet Fireworks is asking for a serial number. I have tried all the typical things (logging out of CC, uninstalling Fireworks, etc). Doesn't work. I've read several other posts on here but most seem to be dealing with Windows and the steps given aren't available to me. I'm running it on a macbook. Absolutely no problems whatsoever with the program until today except it has been telling me my "trial" was ending. I ignored it, assuming it was a glitch I've been getting more and more of those from other adobe products. Just learning to live with them I guess. I don't have time to stop and fix things that are still working, but now that Fireworks has basically just quit on me I'm screwed.

My subscription to CC is renewing in a few days. Would probably have to cancel if this issue can't get sorted out.

Once again I'm using a mac and can't find helpful info for resolving the issue outside of Windows.

@shinglesmcoy,

It goes without saying that FW can't run on Catalina or Big Sur.  Which macOS do you have?

Have you tried installing Muse yet?  Evidently, launching legacy Muse gets some people beyond the FW licensing humps. It's worth a shot.

If you ever get FW to launch again, you should definitely save your layered PNGs as PSD or TIF while you can.  It's uncertain how much longer this aging software will keep working.  Adobe has no interest in it.

I have not tried installing Muse yet. When you say "legacy" which version are you talking about? I had a version of Muse already installed prior. I'm going to try to uninstall and install again and logging out of CC before opening again.

I am still running Mojave, specifically because I still use Fireworks.

Seriously, thanks a lot for the suggestion! Any other suggestions are much appreciated!

Make sure you have the latest version of the Creative Cloud app

Close Fireworks

Launch the Creative Cloud app and signout (click your profile icon top right => sign out)

Close the Creative Cloud app from file => exit

Now launch Fireworks you should get the licensing window => click the 'license this software' button and sign in when prompted...
