Fireworks Trial Notice

I encountered the pop up notice that my trial version of Fireworks CS6 was expiring and was prompted to buy it, license it or continue the trial.  This was concerning because I had never entered a trial of Fireworks and it was included in my annual all-apps package from Adobe.  By the way I have the SOLUTION, but let me digress for a moment.  If you ever expect to get help from Adobe's so-called technical experts via chat or phone...FORGET IT!  They are all from India, Pakistan, Indonesia...who knows, but one thing is certain they do not know much of anything.  Much to my regret I lost my temper during a chat yesterday and used many foul words which I won't repeat here.  The experience lasted the good part of an hour through four different CSRs with the bottom line being they had no answer to my problem and that I should try phoning Adobe, which I did and it was even worse there until I got cut off.  I have been toying with dropping my Adobe subscription altogether since I also use Corel for graphics (better and more intuitive that Photoshop/Illustrator) and Dreamweaver has become a sorry substitute for web development after Macromedia sold out.  I may still yet.  Anyway, what you have all been waiting for...the answer is to simply click on "License this Software" and Fireworks will be validated with your email address on file and the "trial box" will go away.  It's amazing to me that nobody at Adobe knew how to suggest this simple solution, or why they could not come up with another option to select on the "trial box" that doesn't look like you have to buy something you have already paid for.  Anyway, I've had my vent, thank you for your patience and I hope someone out there might be helped by this message.

Paul your cheat worked great! Thanks.

But.... afer restarting my computer (W10).... same problem again.

What is the underlying problem here?

    try this:

    1) Make sure Fireworks is closed

    2) Launch the Creative Cloud App, click you profile icon (top right) => and sign out, then click => file => exit to close the Creative Cloud app

    3) Launch Firework, click the 'license ths software' button and you should be prompted to sign in, login with your Adobe Creative Cloud details, did Fireworks launch successfully?

.... It looks like Adobe have made some chnages and this should resolve the issue now .... If it does not fix the issue for you, in the first instance make sure you have tthe most up to date version of the Creative Cloud app and try again from step 1.

    Good day to all...

First off, thank you to everyone keeping this thread alive. I just started to get the Firework Trial license issue. Wiped everything, used the cleaner tool, tried fireworks on a fresh workstation and would always get the 30 day trial.

The suggested launch MUSE CC then Fireworks seemed to have solved this issue... for now...

I love Fireworks, easily to use versus PhotoShop.

Thank you!  I clicked the "License this Software" as you suggested. It worked like a charm!

I understand your frustration by the way.  One suggestion when calling Adobe customer support:  Mention you've been a customer of CC for X years, and since you have subscribed for that long isn't there a way they can help you? Of course, it's important to try to be a polite, loyal customer on the phone.

But in this case -- where it looks like Adobe is going to start charging even *more* for FireWorks when we already pay a lot for the CC suite  -- it is a conundrum.  Thank you for figuring this out for us!!!!

You would think Adobe would simply send a notification alerting FireWorks users to this issue.

Then again, you really wouldn't think that  😂

    Dear community,

Today it worked by adjusting the application compatibility,

See the screenshot (sorry in Dutch)

It helped me today without any guarantee for tomorrow

Thanks for the solution. I'm sorry for your troubles, but you sure saved me some troubles and for that, I thank you. I don't know why people don't like Fireworks. I've been using it forever, and I don't like it when Adobe moves my cheese!  Anyhow, thanks for taking the time. xoxo

Fireworks is discontinued  & unsupported.  Adobe Customer Care Agents cannot help you with discontinued software.

Unlike Customer Care agents who have little hands-on experience with the software, I'm a fellow product user and a long-time forum volunteer.  What I'm learning from other users in other product forums is that Creative Cloud desktop app and the legacy Creative Suite software manager do not play nice together.  It has been recommended that we dedicate our machine to either Creative Cloud or Creative Suite but not both.   As long as you have an older supporting OS and a paid All Apps plan to Creative Cloud, Fireworks should work for you.

The Adobe Cleaner tool is useful for removing old Adobe program files -- trial versions, Flash players, Acrobat Readers, Extension Managers, Toolkits, etc...   Then do a clean install of the latest Creative Cloud desktop app followed by your other CC software.

You do not need to use the adobe cleaner tool, follow the steps below: ...

    1) Click the 'License This Software' button

    2) If prompted to sign in, click the sign in button

    3) you may be automatically signed in or have to enter your adobe login

This should activate the software again providing you have a full or student/teacher Adobe Creative Cloud subscription/license ......

Ive been using Fireworks since v3 and still use it, I've had exactly the same issue on two or three occassions and the above steps took just a few seconds and removed the nag trial software message and reactivated the software.

    Thanks Nancy for your time.

The alternatives are known, its the funique unctionality that we miss that Fireworks offers.

Maybe it's a sign that so many people need the special functionality.

So back on topic... Why not offer those who have paid for the software the use they paid for.

Nobody is asking for development or support, we know it is not supported anymore.

But this looks like Adobe wants to weed out the use of the program.

As far as I know I can still use Windows Vista, its not supported but it will run nicely, if you want to make that comparison.

So we all look for a sollution if one is at hand.

It's the most recent Windows 10 updates that has caused the issue, if memory serves me correctly the update is called 20H2. It might be you could remove the Windows update and see if it resolves the issue with Fireworks, but then you may leave your OS open to security vulnerabilities. The most frustrating part of all of this is, it is the licensing aspect that is a problem and not the actual core software which functions perfectly fine on Windows 10.

My gripes is this; Fireworks is included in the Creative Cloud Suite that people pay for, so therefore we should get a service update to fix the issue, nobody as you say is expecting new features, we all know the situation with Fireworks, but that doesn't make us want to stop using it for its  quick/intuitive workflow, there's nothing quite like it...

FYI, I tried to reach out to a couple of people at Adobe about Fireworks, and got no replies.... I think the only thing is for people to try and help each other here and find solutions...
