I think it's a windows thing.
I had one remaining PC where the fireworks licence was still valid. I would remote desktop to it to get my jobs done from the office. Until this week when Win 10 updated to version 20H2, now Fireworks thinks it's a trial version and has 28 days to live.
I don't care what anybody says, for web graphics, it's the quickest, simplest app for me. It' what I grew up on, it's what I'm used to working with. A PNG product overlay in fireworks takes me seconds in Fireworks. The same job in Photoshop takes minutes and it's so unintuitive. I know you'll say you just have to get used to it. BUT WHO HAS THE TIME! Why the hell should I. I have a perfectly good app that does the job. *Had.
I struggle with Photoshop to do the simplest things. It's not designed for the kind of work I do.
Why can't I just draw a box and add a graduated fill? Why can't I just type test then resize it? Seriously!

So what's your question?
Did you restart your computer after the Win10 update? Is everything else working OK? Did you click on the "license this" link?
Purchased CC apps reverting to trial mode.

Or are you asking how to use Photoshop to fill a shape with a gradient?
Hopefully one of those replies will answer your question. If not, post back for more help.

I have the 20H2 Windows update on two machines and Fireworks is still working 100% Ok (no trial nag on launch), I even did a clean install of Fireworks and still no issue.
A few things you could try.
1) If you see a 'license this software' button - click it and see if that resolves the issue
2) Close Fireworks => launch the Creative Cloud app => click on your profile icon (top right) and choose sign out => then exit Creative Cloud from top left => file => exit . Now launch Fireworks and you should be prompted to sign in to your Adobe account => sign in and see if it resolves the issue?
3) Unistall Fireworks and download an Adobe Fireworks CS6 offline installer from here, follow the instructions carefully, you need to visit this page first and sign on to your Adobe account before attempting to download. Try installing Fireworks with the offline installer and see if that resolves your issue.

Ok, try this please as I think this is an issue with the Adobe Application Manager and the latest Windows 10 update:
1) Locate this file : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDapp.exe
2) Right click and choose the compatability tab => click the 'compatability troubleshooter' button
3) Next click => 'try recommended settings'
4) Next click => 'test the program' (Creative Cloud app will launch, so minimize it)
5) Click => Next, then click => 'yes save these settings for this program'

After a lot of trial and error and even confusing myself 😂, I found this solution fixed the Fireworks CS6 trial nag problem even though you have a full Creative Cloud subscription:
Locate C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDapp.exe
Right click => compatibility tab => Check the 'run this program as an adminstrator' checkbox => click the 'OK' button
For good measure do a system restart.

Thank you SO much for this. We have a CC All Apps account, and just started having issues with FW. Been stressing for a few days trying everything under the sun to fix the Trial/Serial # issue. This seems to have worked!

I'm still not sure if this is just suppressing the trial message and the 30 day trial countdown is still going in the background... I suppose we'll find out in about 30 days ... I've tried to reach out to Adobe about this issue but as Fireworks is EOL (End Of Life) they have not been (to date) interested.
