Where can I find and reinstall missing extensions?

Community Beginner ,

Core extensions are suddenly missing from my installation of Fireworks CS6. When I open Adobe Extensions Manager CS6, I get an error stating a lot of extensions failed to be imported.

  • Add Arrowheads.zxp
  • Add Picture Frame.zxp
  • Add Shadow.zxp
  • Align Panel.zxp
  • ALT Text Commands.zxp
  • Covert Color Commands.zxp
  • Create Shared Palette.zxp
  • Data-Driven Graphics Wizard.zxp
  • Layers Commands.zxp
  • Reset Warning Dialogs.zxp

My Align panel is blank in the program, which makes sense because it is listed above as missing. Does anyone know where I can find, download, and install missing core plugins for Fireworks?

Are you on windows? Firstly here's a Windows registry fix for some panels unzip, click on the reg file and confirm add to registry. I would also try running the CS6 extension manager as an administrator and try running Fireworks as an administrator too.

I'm on a Mac. I'm not familiar with running as an 'Admin' so I'll look into this. Thank you.

In that case, I'm not sure I can helpo you and once you eventually move to Caalina you won't be able to use Fireworks anyway

I refuse to upgrade for this very reason. 15 years of Fireworks.

I know, it's a crying shame what Adobe have done with Fireworks ... I switched from Mac to PC about 15 years ago and never looked back. It'd testament tobhow good Fireworks was and still is that there isn't a valid replacement that combines the same easy of use, vector and bitmaps tools.

When you think about it Sketch took off big time after Fireworks was EOL'd by Adobe ..... I'm not a big fan of Photoshop (too clunky) and XD is too much of a bare bones, specialist tool.

If the provided fixes don't help I can zip up my commands and command panels folders and provide a download link, you can try copying them to path on widnows C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS6\Configuration\

This is not going to sound helpful at all, but after a recent update to Photoshop and other applications, Fireworks just started working again correctly. *shrugs* I wish I could say I did anything specific. Oddly, the Adobe updater still shows Fireworks needs an update but the update fails everytime.

Here's a zip file of all commands + a load of third party commands plus one or two I created myself:  .... I'm not sure if this if this 100% cross platform.

On windows, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS6\Configuration folder and make a backup  or rename your commands folder, then copy  this new commands folder ..... Give it a go, it may work,  nothing ventured, nothing gained. Simiar process for Mac users, although I'm less confident it will work

This registry fix for Fireworks may help with some disabled panels/extensions for Windows users.
