A month or so ago I bought and built a new PC, and I've been having a weird issue that I haven't been able to fix through extensive googling.
When I watch youtube videos that go up to 1080p and fullscreen them everything works fine, see http://i.imgur.com/an4LiWK.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/zckIbTH.jpg . Note the black bars at the top and bottom because I'm using a 1680 x 1050 screen rather than a 1920x1080.
However when I watch videos that only go up to 720p, and try to fullscreen those, it seems to just do some weird upscaling rather than proper full screen. The video looks pixelated and the little youtube menu bar also doesn't properly go all the way to the bottom of the screen. See here.
The actual resolution I set it at doesn't seem to matter, only the max resolution I can select. If I set a video that can go up to 1080p to 720p or 480p it still looks great.
I'm using firefox on windows 8.1, I have the latest AMD drivers for my R9 290. I have hardware acceleration disabled on flash player, because having it enabled causes BSODs. Enabling it doesn't solve the problem though.
Any ideas?
