Question

Adobe Flash 10.1 (10.1.53.64) GPO and NON Admin

Morning

There seem to be several threads about this. All with different answers I was looking for some confirmation

I have downloaded the redist flash install (Active X) for install via Group Policy (GPO)

Created (edited technically as we already deploy using GPO) the software install policy

Added flash as active x install plublished to users (we dont install based on machine)

Great works nice, BUT only if you have admin rights, other wise I get the error (In event log) you need admin rights to install this package

Anyone have a way around this, out gpo is set to always evevate for installs (Although I believe this technically only applies to non gpo msi installs) on both machine and user

Currently I have a dirty (HATE HATE HATE) msi that copies a batch file locally then launches the install as an installer account that has admin rights.

But doing it this way I lose uninstall/upgrade/etc at the GPO level

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi, I can't answer your concern but I can give you the link for the Administrative Guide:

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html

Pat is another helper that may have more info when he comes on the Forum later.

    Thanks,

Yeah I have read that, it fails to mention admin rights/gpo issues

    Cheers anyway
