Adobe Flash 10 vs. Adobe Flash 9

Hello everyone,

I have Adobe Flash 10.0.32.18 installed. At work we have electronic Learning modules we use for training. All of the learning modules work with Flash Player 10 except 1. However; the one that doesn't work with 10 will work with Flash 9. The IT department says there is nothing wrong but, this is happening to 10 users so far that I know of. It could be more. Is there a setting or something that can make Flash 10 backwards compatible with videos that can play with Flash 9

Thanks for looking into this....

    Thanks for the reply, I am changing the title to reflect the problem better. The other title made it sound like I was asking for an opinion beteween the two.

    Thanks for the reply!

    However; the info provided did not fix the problem. Get this!, the developer said that it should work because 10 is backwards compatible with 9.

    Well, it isn't in my case. And now this is starting to happen to multiple users who are installing version 10.

    I just removed 10 and installed 9 and the learning module worked perfect... it just will not work with 10??

    Thanks again for trying to help... at least the forum tried.. our IT department ignores...

    All Flash Player versions should be backwards compatible, in theory at least.  I don't think there is anything to force such compatibility if it is not there.

    Two things you could try to see if it possibly improves the situation:

    • disable hardware acceleration (Flash Player Settings);
    • update the device drivers for your graphics/video/display adapter (if you are on Windows).

    If neither fixes the problem, contact the developer of these learning modules.
