I thought that today, March 18 2011, Adobe would release Flash Player 10.2 on the Android Market but I have yet to see it. Has anyone been able to download and install this plug-in?

Hi, It seems like you have a double thread? Would you mind using the edit feature on the other one and deleting that message?
Thanks,
eidnolb
I am currently catching up on the thread responses from the overnights and will reply to you about your concern.

eidnolb,
I can't seem to access my discussions to get into the edit feature. My browser is hanging. I only have less than 15 minutes to delete the tread. I don't know how I got to 2 threads because the first time it threw an error and I got the impression that the thread never entered the database.

Thread successfully deleted. . . I guess my browser worked after all.

Hi, ok, good. Glad you were able to get to it, thanks!!
Until I have time to search what you need, see if there is any info here:
If not, then I would try the manufacturer's site, either HTC or Motorola whichever is your Android.
The Carrier also may have info. As far as I know, FP for the smart phones isn't available directly from the Adobe sites.
If I'm wrong about that, I hope someone corrects me. That has been the case ever since last year.
Hope this info is helpful.
Thanks,
eidnolb

I found this thread on Motorola's XOOM website for which Honeycomb is the only device supported:

Hi, Thanks for that info. Also I went to the link provided from there to :
http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplatform/2011/02/update-for-fp-10-2-on-tabs.html
and noticed the 3/15/11 comment by Craig Corica regarding Honeycomb and the need for a Google 3.0.1 update. Did you see that?
I wasn't aware of that blog, so thanks a lot for that. Working with the Flash Player on the PC's keeps me very busy and I try to keep up with links for the smart phones so users can get info.
I've always thot that how to have Flash Player on the smart phones could have been made a lot easier than it has been. In my opinion it's been convoluted.
Flash Player had it available way last year, but the hold up was the Android, waiting on Google to update the OS. I have that documented.
Thanks for the add'l info.

...And I always thought Adobe was holding up the process because they have to develop Flash Player for each platform that comes out. Such as the 64-bit platform of PC's Mac's and Linux machines.
I was aware of the need to update the Moto XOOM since the update alert came up automatically on the device. That is how I learned of the 3/18 release date which the alert expressly stated would be today. Unfortunately I have seen no sign of the update in the Android Market. Turns out that other readers of other blogs have been anxiously awaiting the update as well without any luck.
Thanks for responding to my posts so quickly eidnolb . . .

Hi, Well the 64bit Square is out for certain 64bit OS. Still a beta, but it's being downloaded and used. We just had a thread up using it with IE9 and they person said it's working perfectly:-)
Adobe had Flash Player ready with the 10.1 last year. Then Google had to update the OS to 2.2, so all Android users were waiting for that.
I think that the manufacturer has to have their phones ready for Flash Player, not vice versa. Otherwise we'd have various versions of Flash Player?
This may be the latest info although I most likely have more, but for lack of time right now, I can't get to it.

When I find some extra time, I'll post it.

If so, page down in the body of the email and find "visit the message page" Be sure to click on the one that you want to delete, not this one:-)
You can also try this: This will take you straight to the Flash Player Forum Discussions?
