Hello,

01AFLP.JPG

I started getting a pop-up error message "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation" whenever I visited Hotmail.com, since Adobe Flash Player V. 11.4.402.265.

Today I update to V. 11.4.402.278 and still the same message, I found a solution @

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

Where I have to click the Global Security Settings option (the little world with the lock on top of it), and add:

Hotmail.com

To that "Always trust files in these locations" box. Then check the "Always allow" option.

.
The problem is I am running sandboxed so when I click on "Settings" Nothing happens.

I have install the Adobe Master Collection CS6 as Trial Version

Is Adobe Flash Professional CS6 or Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 what is causing this message?

Or

Is the latest or previous Adobe Flash Player version, which is causing this msg?

If I uninstall Adobe Master Collection CS6 the msg will not show again?

I do not want to browse Unsandboxed

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me

You can change security setting from control panel->Flash Player. Please let me know if you can't find it.

If you want to do same thing with Global Security Settings panel , it's in Advanced->Developer tool. I am not sure why you need to set this to access hotmail site though. Are you sure that it is your solution for your problem?

What you refer as Global Security Setting panel is old info. UI and wording is changed as you can see in the image:

Are you a Flash developer? If not, I don't recommend to touch the setting in Trusted Location setting. I just wanted to tell where the (old) Golocal Security setting is since you said you wanted to access it.

If you keep seeing the warning message when accessing hotmail.com site only, it's better to ask in hotmail.com forum. I don't see the same message even I access hotmail.com with my IE 9. Or if you can provide a direct link that I can try out to see same error, please let me know.

thanks,

Hitomi

If you do require the debug version of Flash Player, you might want to consider using a different browser for normal browsing activities.  Google Chrome is a good choice here since it includes it's own version of Flash Player.

If you don't require the debug player, then I'd recommend uninstalling it using the stand alone uninstaller (http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe) and then installing the latest release version (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer)

I do not like Google Chrome, I only use FF and IE

If you don't require the debug player, then I'd recommend uninstalling it using the stand alone uninstaller

But I have the latest version AdbeFLP V. 11.4.402.278

http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_active_...

Why do I have to uninstall it?

Is Adobe Flash Professional CS6 or Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 what is causing this message?

I don't think so. Why are you using Flash Pro and Flash Builder if you are not Flash developer? Those are for Flash app developers.

Can you check the following site and see if your Flash Player is debug version or not?

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html#main_Find_Flash_Player_version...

If yes, you have to unisntall it and install non debug version as regular user use. I think Flash Pro and Builder installer install debug version of player since it need for Flash developers.

No, I am not a Flash developer, Then I have to undo the changes right?

>If you keep seeing the warning message when accessing hotmail.com site only, it's better to ask in hotmail.com forum.

Can you please provide me the hotmail forum link?

>I don't see the same message even I access hotmail.com with my IE 9

Perhaps because you are browsing with IE 9 and I am browsing with IE 8?

>Or if you can provide a direct link that I can try out to see same error

Only Hotmail.com

I recommend you to revert the Global Security Setting in case you are end user. The setting make your browser blindly trust hotmail.com so it sound not safe. I found this as hotmail forum:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/hotmail?auth=1

I tried IE8 with another machine but it's working fine. There must be some setting causing the error in your environment.
