Hello, in all DxDiag files I see the same outdated audio driver (11/20/2010 / Realtek HD Audio)

Please download and install the latest audio driver from here:

I wouldn't say I'm having the exact same symptoms, only because my video never freezes(except when buffering). It's merely the audio the disappears for flash pages. The original poster stated that the video was stopping eventually, as well. I did notice a couple of times that the video did stutter slightly when the audio cut out, but the video would continue, the audio would not.

I can't say how long the issue has been present. My recent addition of the USB sound card was the first I'd noticed it, since before that all I'd used was the headphone out on the front, and even now I do not have the issue when using the headphone out. The headphone out is unbearable with my new sound system. I hear almost EVERYTHING the computer is thinking about.

MrX1980, your driver suggestion worked for me. I updated the driver, re-enabled jack detection in the registry, rebooted, and no problems! Now, I can have sound routed to the headphone jack automatically. Very nice. Thanks so very much!

Oddly when I changed the registry like you suggested and restarted it began to work. I'm not sure whether the driver you linked to was involved or not, I thought I had reverted to an older one before trying your other idea.

MrX1980 linked to a driver, I showed the registry edit. The registry edit is not necessary with the driver MrX1980 linked to. The driver and registry edit are both capable of solving the problem, but the driver update is preferable since you can leave the regisry alone and still have jack detection. If you use more than one sound output, and occasionally want to plug headphones in that override the default sound device, you'll want jack detection. If you installed the new driver, you can go back and find "EnableDynamicDevices" in the registry and set the 6th zero to a 1 so that it shows "0000 01 00 00 00".

Explanation for users that still have problems and still not updated their drivers.

Jeromie Clark wrote:

Frequently, it's up to the OEM to offer updated drivers for their hardware. You may want to open a support case with your audio hardware vendor to encourage them to release updated drivers for your specific hardware."

Unfortunately the problem started again today even though everything should be updated.

And frankly Mr. Clark isn't exactly helpful (or even sounding too apologetic).

What version of Flash Player are you currently using, and what URLs are you experiencing the problem on?

Also, is there anything special we need to do with the audio configuration to reproduce it?

Thank you for the response.

Presently it is 11.7.700.169. I have used an older version (I can't remember which but I believe it is the second latest) and seen the problem or at least something similar.

The URLs... frankly pretty much all. If it's on YouTube.com, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com, http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com/, SFDebris.com etc it's going to have the problem.

If you want a specific URL where I am currently having the problem, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36lSzUMBJnc

For audio configurations, I don't have the faintest idea. It's happened to me after following MrX1980's suggestion, it's occurred after following RobinDobbie's, it's occurred to me after undoing both, it's occurred while wearing headphones, it's occurred while not and so on and so forth.

My current experience is that restarting the computer might temporarily stop the problem, only for it to reappear later. Also the problem has changed to simply not hearing sound, period, rather than briefly hearing sound and then having the sound cut out.

I am having the exact same problem. Pretty much all videos from youtube, animefreak, Dailymotion. Normal, fullscreen, every quality settings and even all browsers. I tried all of this and i have that problem. Its very annoying. I disabled Hardware acceleration and i still have the same problem.

I might be on to something. There are two ways I can avoid rhe audio randomly cutting out: Use the headphone jack. Or, through device manager, disable the onboard sound built into the motherboard(Asus P8P67 with Realtek® ALC 892), and just use the external sound, only. So, I think the problem might be with the interaction between Flash and the jack-detection feature.

I've been problem free for the last couple of hours since I tried killing the motherboard sound. I'll try enabling the on-board sound and use the optical out and see what happens over the next couple of hours.

@lucas: You're better off opening a new thread specific to your situation so that we can give you personalized advice.

Reboot.  If the problem persists, start with the video troubleshooting guide:

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html

If you're on WiFi, try plugging directly into your router.  If the problem goes away, restart the router.  If it persists, you'll probably need to better tune your wireless network, which is beyond the scope of what we're prepared to handle here.

If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

Given the age of this thread, and the fact that the history isn't helpful in fixing current video playback issues, I'm going to lock it.

If you're experiencing problems, please try my advice above, then open a unique thread about your problem.  If the problem is *not* specific to the Flash Player Beta, please open it in the Using Flash Player forum, not here, in the Beta forum.
