I have the problem with safari 8.0.6 and firefox 38.05

Once I bring up the adobe flash player settings, the only interaction I can have with the browser is to close the browser window.

If I try to click on one of the flash player settings options, tabs or even the close button it ignores all mouse input. Since the flash player settings has control I can't do anything else in that browser window or tab (except close it or switch to a different one).

Flash player version : 18.0.0.194 (at least that is what it says in system preferences. If there is a different version # that would show in the plugin when runing I can not tell because it won't let me click anywhere once I start a webcam session).

OS Version : 10.10.3 (14D136)

It is not any particular URL. It does this for any url that has webcam. Click to start webcam and it instantly pups up the flash player settings asking for camera and microphone access and locks me out of clicking on anything. I have the same issue using Safari, Firefox or Chrome. I have updated all 3 browsers.

No, that does not work.

That is what I said.

When I bring up the settings manager, it will not let me click anywhere on it. Nothing happens. Nothing works at that point except shutting down the browser or the tab.

I can not click to change the camera or mic settings. I can not click on a tab in the settings manager. I can not click on OK, I can not click on cancel.

It does NOTHING except bring up the settings manager.

HI ,

The link provided in the earlier post is where you can change your flash player settings in the same way as you do it through settings manger by context menu .If you are facing similar issue on that page too ,please follow the steps :-

  • Go to System Preferences
  • Click on Flash Player
  • Go to Camera and Mic tab
  • click on Camera and Microphone settings by site button
  • Click on + button .
  • Enter the URL in website domain and set the permission as Allow .
  • Click on Add button and then close .
  • Refresh the page .

I hope this might help you .

‌no it does not. Not only does it not help, but you already knew that it would not because I private messages you and said please don't tell me to do what you just to,d me because it would not solve the problem.

the solution you gave would allow me to allow or disallow access to webcam on a site by site basis. It does not however solve the problem that the webcam settings box does not recognize mouse clicks. I need to be able to change webcam settings, not just allow access. The settings box you describe an alternate way of getting to does not allow the changing of any other setting (include the ability to choose a webcam when more than one is plugged in).
