Do the 10.3.183.5 MSI installers not have the Windows Control Panel applet included?
Installed overtop of an older install that already has the applet, it does not delete it, but if you install fresh from the 10.3.183.5 MSI's, it does not install the applet.
I've asked our installer team for their feedback. I'll let you know what I find.

I have installed Adobe Flash Player version 10.3.183.5 and now any flash pages are telling me that Flash Player 9.0.0 is required. Its almost like any webpages that use Flash in Safari think I am using an OLD version of Flash. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall without any success.
Mac 10.6.8 installed
Thanks!

Hi,
Could you go to the following page and let me know what version of the player is reported being installed?

Thanks,

Chris,
It says:
Macintosh - OS X Firefox, Opera, Safari 10.3.183.5
I have also tried installing Ver. 11 Beta and I get the same errors. Everything works in Firefox and chrome but not in Safari.
Thanks,
Matt

Do you see a screen that looks similar to the following?

If not, go to your Safari Help menu, and select "Installed Plug-ins". Does the page that appears have different plug-ins listed? Do you see an entry for Shockwave Flash?
If you'd like, you might want to start a new topic on your issue so we don't have multiple conversations running.
Thanks,
Chris

Please can I add some information about the Control Panel issue (Bug 2940568).
My test upgrading from 10.3.181.26 with Control Panel applet installed, using the following command....
install_flash_player_10_active_x.msi /qn
....automatically removes the applet for some reason.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the heads up. We're working on this bug (along with the issue with the control panel not being installed) and hope to have a solution for you soon.

Major troubles for us as it is no longer compatable with Pendulab's ChatBlazer.
http://www.chatblazer.com/
We are dealing with lots of support phone calls and e-mails due to this. Ugh!!!
I don't know if the problem is Adobe Flash or ChatBlazer, but it has worked fine with prior versions of Flash. This is a major issue for us as a company, as we use the ChatBlazer software to provide real time interactions with our customers.

You don't specify what kind of "problems" you or your customers encounter.
Can you reproduce any of these problems? If so, do they go away if you revert to the previous Flash Player version?

As we are not the developers of ChatBlazer, I can not state what the exact problem is. All I can tell you is the symptoms. On Windows, we just see a black screen where the Flash app should be. On Mac, the title screen is shown, it looks like it's doing some loading in the background due to a progress bar. The progress bar then stops and we are stuck on the screen.
Yes, reverting back to the previous version of Flash works.

With that new Flash Player version, can you see the Flash animation (rotating red 'f') at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
If yes, can you right-click on that Flash object, then under Settings disable Hardware Acceleration?

I disabled hardware acceleration but the problem continues.
I've been searhing a littler deeper. I downloaded the debug version hoping that would give me some sort of error log, but got nothing.
However, after about a second of the movie loading, I get the following context menu:
Movie not loaded...
Show Redraw Regions
Debugger
------
About Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.5
All three top options are disabled/greyed out. Movie not loaded is certainally something I wouldn't expect to see.
Now, what's particularly interesting is that for the first couple seconds, I can get the normal context menu. Play, forward, next, etc.
My guess, and that's all this is - a guess, is that the application is trying to load another swf and failing. I do know this application loads a skin file and perhaps it is dying there. I know it's finding the skin file, because an error appears when I rename it. The net view in browser (firebug or chrome developer tools) shows the skin file loading properly. I know this isn't much to go on, but it's one more data point.
The whole issue might be some weird coding in the ChatBlazer app, however it's certain that this Flash upgrade isn't 100% backwards compatable.

Hi Ritteh,
I've been able to confirm this against 10.3.183.5 and beta 2 of Flash Player 11. I'll be entering a bug about it internally so we can continue our investigation. If you'd like to get updates, please feel free to enter a new bug over at bugbase.adobe.com and we'll link the internal bug against the public. Please post back with the bug URL so that others can cast their votes and add comments.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Ritteh,
I talked with the guys at Pendulab today. It appears they have a fix that they've started to roll out. You might want to contact them to see if they can help you out. We're still looking into the root cause, but I know this is critical for you so I'd recommend contacting them.

It sounds like we are experiencing the same issue. It is outlined further in the thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/890568
I have submitted a bug via bugbase but can not get the url because of a security issue. I attached a couple of fla and swf files that recreate the issue. This is a massive issue for us. Is there any explanation as to what has caused this to start happening?
Thanks
Joe

I too am seeing the issue that Ritteh described, but I don't see a defect in the public database. We are loading a movie inside another movie, but this has always worked in the past players.
Chris,
Is this defect being tracked publicly?

Joe and James,
Does this look like the bug you're encountering?
Flash Player 10.3.183.5 Shared library/preload bug
If so, I'd like to encourage you to add a vote and comment to the bug. Having this feedback can be critical in understanding the impact this issue is having on our users.
I've also just updated the post that Joe mentioned with a possible workaround.

Oops, thanks for the heads up. I believe the download link is valid but the version and date are off. We'll get this fixed.
