    Hi lennyd15,

I'm assuming your talking about the settings dialog issue with iMac's and ATI graphics cards.  We're aware that this still exists and we're still working with Apple and ATI to resolve it.

This update is causing some TextFields to not expand and display the text in a single column vertically in AS2.0 files.  Thiis affecting all of the clients of the company I work for and some of them are having to roll back their Flash Player version to the previous version (on hundreds of systems) so they can complete their training.  This has been entered into the Bug forum as well.

This bug should be addressed in our update.  If all goes to plan, a new version of the player will be available for download later tonight or tomorrow.  I'll post additional details once this has been completed.

    Thanks,

    Chris

We've had a problem with older AS2 files using a Shared Object Library not working since this release. The only solution we could come up with was to flatten all SOL items.

    Hey Chris,

I've reported this earlier but have not received any details and it's killing the performance of our online multiplayer game.   The animation performance issue described in our bug report can be easily recreated.   Our bug topic is listed below, and several players have confirmed the issue, posting in the bug report as well ... we really need help on this one.   I've been working tirelessly to determine what changed in the latest version of the player with no luck.

Today I tried 20 different changes, including stripping down the game client size down by over 40% to it's core essentials and still the performance is siginificantly hindered.

Our bug base topic is here:

    Please help us!

    Hi Chris,

Experiencing problems viewing flash content and uploaded videos on Facebook since version 10.3 released.

Fb asks for an upgrade or player remains closed - blank black screen on home-uploaded vids.

    Any advice?

    (using 32b Win IE9)

Hi Chris - our development company has noticed a critical issue with the latest release (discovered with testing in Chrome with latest update - which includes this release) and an unupdated IE9 -

Title: Version 10.3.183.5 has removed gotoAndPlay(number), gotoAndPlay("label") and gotoAndStop from timeline.

Problem Description: We have an as2 product for a major client that uses .as files and some AS on the timeline. The latest update seems to have removed our ability to use the above code on the timeline.

Steps to Reproduce: Place gotoAndPlay(1) on end keyframe and publish in CS4, fp8, as2.0

Actual Result: Upon gotoAndPlay, we get blank screen with "Movie not loaded" in right click menu.

Expected Result: Movie to loop on gotoAndPlay.

Any Workarounds: Remove gotoAndPlay and let flash handle the natural loop from end of timeline and auto replay. Move code into a function in an external .as and call this function from flash timeline [eg loopMovie(); function loopMovie() { gotoAndPlay(1); } ]

This is a critical issue for us as the project has a critical release timing - we're using the work around as best we can, but we are now having to go through the .flas finding any usage of these bits of code. An update resolution would be very handy.

    Hi Elfranko,

I believe the bug you are encountering is the same as the following one in bugbase.adobe.com:

[Platform_Window]Flash Player 10.3.183.5 Shared library/gotoAndPlay() or gotoAndStop() bug

I completely understand that this is a critical issue.  We're working on it as a top priority and there are a couple of workarounds available right now.  The first is to remove the gotoAndPlay/gotoAndStop calls from the code and approach using a different technique.  This isn't always feasible though, and we understand that.  The second option is to download and install Flash Player 11 Beta 2, it's been reported that in most cases this also resolves the issue.

As soon as we have additional details to share we'll update the bug and I'll post on the forums.  If this is the bug affecting you, I'd like to encourage you to vote and leave a comment.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi FIsher6001,

This is odd that this error has happened twice on your system.  It shouldn't be occurring.  From what I've read it's a registry permission problem.  Try the solution on the following KB doc:

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html

If that doesn't help, please create a new topic and we'll go from there.

    Thanks,

I tried unsuccessfully installing the IE flashplayer. Even on different pages throughout Adobe's troubleshooting sites. I think it has to do with M$'s IE KB update for XP SP3 x86, which I have. If I remember correctly, this KB update is a re-release of an Active-X Killbit. I had no problem updating FF 5 plugin. I hope this helps.

Try downloading the installer from the link in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580

The installer will automatically remove the kill-bit for Flash Player if it is set.
