Flash player buffering / streaming problem

New Here ,

Hi experts, I have a strange Flash issue which relates to streaming and or buffering. I'm attempting to watch a MotoGP live stream, however the stream will play for anfew seconds, then stop for 5 minutes before starting again, then freezing...

I'm running windows 7 32bit and flash V11 and have tried chrome, ie and firefox and the connection is hard wired

My Internet connection is about 15mb and ping test has my connection classed as A

I have a Mac connected via wireless running chrome and the video can stream fine

I've opened task manager and viewed the network traffic and there is visible traffic during the initial buffer phase which is relatively level, however this soon drops to zero activity and the video stops

I've also tried this at a friends place with windows 7 and seen a typical buffer profile of network connectivity and there was a clear plateau of network traffic, something missing from this machine.

I've also tried reinstalling flash, my nvidia video card drivers and network drivers, increased the flash buffer and disabled hw acceleration, disables ms security essentials, firewall, dropbox, av, etc

Have I missed something I'm almost ready to reinstall!!!

Thanks in advance.

Screenshot when frozen - notice no buffering is taking place: http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/rr179/bigduke6_bucket/motogpstream.jpg

Screenshot when playing \ buffering @ 300kbps: http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/rr179/bigduke6_bucket/motogpstream300kBps.jpg

I guess my question is when the video freezes, why does the data download also freeze?

This sounds like a network issue between your system and the MotoGP site.  Have you had similar issues with other live streaming video sites?

I don't believe the two ActionScript errors are related, though it might be interesting to see if your friend's windows 7 system also encounters these errors.

Some more info on this one. I've rebuilt the PC back up with Windows 7, SP1 & IE9 \ Google Chrome. The same symptoms still persist. Basically the stream will stop downloading after around 30 seconds.

I was able to install a debugging version of Flash from here:http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and these are the errors which correspond to the freeze or stop of network traffic.

ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property gotoAndStop not found on flash.text.TextField and there is no default value. at MethodInfo-2492()]

TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.events::Event@115eaf39 to flash.events.MouseEvent.

Can someone please assist?

Hi Chris - Thanks for the reply... You were right, it was a networking problem. I was able to stream from youtube in 1080p without any troubles, so the issue was confied to MotoGP only. I tested various other Windows 7 machines at friends places and had no troubles.

I purchased a USB wifi card and tested with this - no problems whatsoever, so I've put this down to a hardware issue when combined with the various software I was running all ammounting to a specific inability to stream motogp only... wierd.

So problem identified and workaround in place 😃
