Flash Player in Firefox NOT Working

Realist is a website used by thousands of real estate agents,

and the FMLS tech support folks said"

"This Firefox issue with Realist is a known problem related to the latest version of the Firefox browser. Many websites and browsers are moving away from supporting Adobe Flash and are updating accordingly. Realist still requires Adobe Flash to run and we have started seeing more problems with it in some browsers. It appears Realist and the latest Firefox version are incompatible. I am unsure if future Firefox updates might work again but it seems unlikely if the browser no longer works with Flash websites. "

Windows 10

Firefox Quantum 65.0 (64-bit)

Flash Version 32.0.0.114

Browser = Firefox (NPAPI)

I click on the link, and a new tab opens.

URL appears at the top.

A large, blank grey screen opens below.

To the left of the URL, the dark grey icon appears,

which when moused over, pops up "Manage plug-in use"

When I click it, I check the box for "Remember this decision".

Then I click "Allow".

Then, NOTHING HAPPENS.

Thanks.

Rick.

They seem to be saying very clearly "It appears Realist and the latest Firefox version are incompatible. " which suggests you need to try another browser, not change the setup in Firefox.

All browsers are going to make Flash more and more difficult, so you need to get details of their plans for stopping it quickly, or find another solution.

I'm not able to reproduce the behaviour you're describing.

    My test system:

    • 64-bit Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1809 OS build 17763.292
    • Firefox Quantum 65.0 (64-bit)
    • Flash Player 32.0.0.114

When I navigate to Realist, I am prompted to 'Run Adobe Flash'

Left-click on the plugin icon, displays the 'Do you want to allow Adobe Flash...' message:

Clicking 'Allow' results in the content displaying:

Have you tried going to about:addons and setting Flash to 'Always Activate'?  If not, please try that.

Note, however, that there is a known bug in 64-bit Firefox that prevents Firefox from writing Shared Objects to the file system.  This is a Firefox bug, not Flash Player.  The workaround until Firefox fixes the bug is to use 32-bit Firefox on the 64-bit OS.  There have been numerous Firefox bugs filed on this issue.  See Error #2130: Unable to flush SharedObject after latest Firefox update for more information.

Also, Flash Player will end-of-life at the end of 2020, Realist should start, if they haven't done so yet, to make alternative arrangements for their Flash-based product.  See Adobe's announcement, Flash & The Future of Interactive Content | Adobe Blog , published July 2017 for more information.
