Every 30 minutes, or so, Flash Reader asks to be updated. When click update, it gives me the "discontinued" notice. I have Reader turned off in my browser, but how do I get rid of these update requests?
Sounds like you have Safari as the default browser. Flash Player update notification launches the default browser to download the installer. However, Apple dropped support for Flash Player in Safari 14 (released Sept 2020) and when the download page's OS/browser detection scripts detect the browser is Safari, it redirects to the end-of-life FAQ page. I realize this workflow isn't ideal.

If you do require Flash Player, use one of the other supported browsersChrome, Firefox, or Opera.
Firefox uses the same NPAPI plugin as Safari. To update Flash Player, launch Firefox and navigate to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.
