i am having a lot of trouble with flash player. i cant seem to view any videos or games that require adobe flash player. so i have tried many times to install it but when i try it comes up with the animation box playing saying it is succesfully installed. i have read that this could be due to needing to uninstall first.
i have tried uninstalling MANY times but it just does the same thing and freezes before completion. please someone help as this is becoming very stressful. thanks

Try going to F-Secure.com and take their free Health-Check. It lists old unsupported software that is a security risk. You will probably find the version # (s) of the Flash Player(s) that can not be uninstalled.

I am having a similar problem, I can't get Macromedia Flash Player 8.0.24.0 to uninstall; it is unsupported and a security risk (according to F-Secure). I have tried Adobe Bulletin 14157 and also Adobe kb402435. I have not yet removed Macromedia. I can not find the software in the Add/Remove Programs and I can not find the software in my OS search function. I am sure that I could find it in the search function if I knew what the files were called, but the naming of software files is not always conducive to finding them.

Thank You for the update, but I am not trying to install at this time. I don't have any problen installing, other than I have to wait for ever to view video. I am trying to get it (older versions) off of my computer so that my computer is more secure, and hopefully that I can watch video more quickly without the stall out of rendering. What I have found is that a third party says that I have a resident Macromedia Flash Player that I can not find to eliminate, and the uninstaller has not removed it at least three times. I have also found that there is a resident Shockwave Flash 8.0.24.0 (r24) program in Photoshop Elements 5.0 that has not been automatically updated by Adobe and also I have found a resident Shockwave Flash 7.0.19.0 (r19) program in Adobe Help Center that has not been automatically updated by Adobe. I will continue to look for outdated Adobe products in my file system and will manually delete them if I have to. I am missing out on alot of advertising because I can not remove these programs in a systematically simple manner. Thank You once again.

Q: Do we need to shut everything down to download the uninstaller, also?
