.

My System has:

.     FlashPlayer 15 ActiveX 15.0.0.239 & FP 16 NPAPI 16.00.0235

.     Windows 7 Professional - 64-bit

.     I use Internet Explorer & FireFox.

.     See more system info at end of the is text.

.

.

This if VERY ANNOYING -

.         VERY BOTHERSOME ! ! !

.

Problem/Question:

.

I FREQUENTLY have to END 1 (or sometimes 2) Flash Player processes

.                        after experiencing EXTREME SLUGGISHNESS of my system.

CPU In-Use is at or very near 100% - constantly.

.

The system is  - for all practical purposes  - UnResponsive - NOT Usable.

.

When I first had this problem, I always just ReBooted.

,         That always "solved" the problem - for a while - it ALWAYS come back.

.

Then - using TaskManager - I identified the processes with Hi-CPU-Use.

.         Always the FP  process was one of the culprits.

.

Ending one (or more) FP processes

.          produced DRAMATIC results -

.         CPU use would DROP to less than 10% -

.          usually varying a little about 5%.

I did NOT need to ReBoot!

.

The PROBLEM continues - still VERY frequently - at least daily.

.

Recently the same PROBLEM has more usually been evidenced while there is

.             Fairly LOW CPU use by FP  processes -

.             & more-or-less normal CPU use by all other processes -

.            BUT  -

.             ENDING the FP process still produces the same

.             DRAMATIC POSITIVE results.

.

Also - sometimes ending ONE FP process only ends just the ONE FPprocess.

.        Sometimes one click on "end process" or "end process tree"

.                           ends two FP processes with one click. ( ?? why ?? )

.

As soon as some URL requires my browser to use FP -

.    the problem comes back - not always immediately - but -

.          SOON - always.  { both Internet Explorer & FireFox seem to exhibit the High CPU use problem }

.

Right now - there are TWO  -   FlashPlayerPlugin_1`6_0_0_232.exe *32  -  processes shown by TaskManager

.                 Both show 00% CPU use.

.                 Total CPU use it 4% to 23%

.      No system use Problem right now - (3--Dec-'14 at 3:50pm)

.

This if VERY ANNOYING -

.         VERY BOTHERSOME ! ! !

.

Any suggestions ??? <<===

Here's an explanation of why there are multiple processes:

Inside Flash Player Protected Mode for Firefox

If Flash Player is using a ton of CPU, it's typically because the content is doing something CPU intensive.

If you're seeing high CPU usage when watching video, then it may be that we're not using hardware acceleration for video and audio playback.   Older video cards and drivers in particular can be unstable, and we've blacklisted a number of combinations where people were experiencing frequent driver-related crashes.  I'd recommend that you have the latest drivers for your audio and video hardware installed.

If you're still stuck, you can try a different browser.  Both the ActiveX version of Flash Player for Internet Explorer and the PPAPI version for Google Chrome are very different pieces of software, and you might get different outcomes.

If you come up with a specific set of steps or a particular website that always produces the problem, I'm more than happy to take a look.
