Flickering/flashing on Mac in Chrome/Opera using flash 23.0.0.205

Hello!

Since last week when flash was updated (23.0.0.205) for Chrome me and quite a few others at the office are having issues running flash applications on Mac computers.

Some details:

OS: Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1 (16B2555)

Tested browsers: Chrome: 54.0.2840.71 (64-bit) and Opera: 41.0.2353.46

PPAPI versions tested: 23.0.0.205 and 23.0.0.205 (debug version)

Issue: Pages running flash flicker/flash non stop until site is refreshed or dev tools are opened/closed. It doesn’t happen each time but refreshing a page running a full width flash application will eventually result in entire page flashing non stop. It started on October 26th for multiple people at our office, all of who use Mac OS Mavericks or Sierra and Chrome or Opera.

Have you noticed anything regarding this?

Refresh page a few times when flash is done loading for problem to appear, sometimes it’s instant.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Can you try this on latest Chrome Beta (55.0.2883.26) or later and share the results?

I have been clicking around in 55.0.2883.28 (Official Build) beta now and I can't reproduce this issue. Looks good so far!

Thanks a lot for confirming. The Chrome schedule is here (Chromium Development Calendar and Release Info - The Chromium Projects ).

Chrome 55 is scheduled for 6th December 2016 to stable channel.
