System-Win7 with all latest updates.

I'm on a web site and get notice that Flash Player not installed (but I had done so).

Got to Adobe site, download and install-no problems.

Check and shows up when I look at installed programs.

Reboot (and cold boot as I've tried this a number of times).

Go to another web site, get same notice that Flash Player not installed.

Have gone in and uninstalled Flash Player and downloaded and installed, still same situation.

Hi,

Please ensure Flash Player is enabled in the browser, and in the case of IE, ensure ActiveX Filtering is disabled:

Thanks

Followed directions-didn't see it.

Noticed it was drop-down indicated "currently loaded add-ons"

Menu-I Select "all add-ons"

it appears there as enabled, but not under "currently loaded add-ons"

How do I get it to be loaded??

Hi,

The ActiveX Control will display in the list of currently loaded add-ons if their is flash content on the page.

Capture.JPG

If the page doesn't have Flash content, or is not properly detecting Flash content, it won't show up.  What is the website that is prompting to install Flash Player?  Internet Explorer introduces a number of changes to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers and how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviour specific to IE.  Does the site work when using Compatibility View (Fix site display problems with Compatibility View - Windows Help )?

Web sites I get this on are all news-e.g. NY Times, Washington Post, etc.

I've followed the instructions about compatibility and will see if it makes any difference.

Thanks

Hi,

Thankfully the forums software doesn't accept email attachments, else I think you would have posted a private/personal document for the world to see.

For Flash Player in IE, I'd like to review the FlashInstall.log files on your system to see if there's possibly a permissions issue.  Major website such as NYTimes and Washington Post should work.  It's usually less known/popular sites that may not have detection issues.  The FlashInstall.log file is saved at the following location:

  • 32-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
  • 64-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (both files are required).

Please upload the files to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions How do I share a file? Again, the forums software blocks email attachments so you'll need to go to this discussion on forums.adobe.com to upload the files.  Post the link to the uploaded file(s) in your reply.

Thank you.
