Hasn't been working properly since an update in July

Ever since I installed an update around July of 2012, Flash Player hasn't been working properly. My main problem is that the video is severly choppy, and lags behind the audio as much as five to ten seconds. Needless to say, this is intolerable....

My questions are, does anybody know what is causing this?- please keep in mind that I HAVE gone through all the troubleshooting that is on Adobe's help pages. And...

Are their any programs that may be running in the background that may be preventing my uninstall program from running? I'm trying to uninstall to be able use an archived version of Flash Player, but it won't even let me do that..... HELP!!!!

To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:

When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:

Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.

Thanks so much for the reply- So, I'm using XP- 32 bit with firefox and I have 11.7.700.169 installed. Now, I tried the links you posted for me and the problem still existed. But if it isn't a problem with the Flash player, why then did the problems start instantly after an update for flash player? Also if it means anything, the problem wasn't nearly as bad on the second link: Non-HTML5 video.

Thanks again for the reply, please help me through this it is driving me crazy......

As you can probably tell, I'm not hugely knowledgeable in these matters, and I sincerely appreciate your help here....

Anyway, when I right click on either of the links above the last choice on the menu is "Inspect Element" and "HTML5" does not appear in the list at all. I hope I'm doing what you're actually trying to get me to do properly.....

Not to basically shoot your coincidence idea down, but I clearly remember installing the update- for Adobe- and trying to undo it right away, because it was largely noticeable instantly.

On a different note, could you give me some ideas as to why my uninstall won't run? I seem to be closing everything that the player uses. I actually went so far as to start ending processes one by one in the task manager trying to get it to run but to no avail. Do any background programs use flash player and prevent uninstall from running?

Sorry, what I meant was click the HTML5 link.  Then when the video is playing, right click on the video and check to see what the last menu item is.

What is the uninstaller telling you?  Have you tried using the standalone uninstaller located here?
