How Do I Open Adobe Flash After I Download It.

I have installed the adobe flash player and it claims I successfully installed it but I don't know how to open it and actually use it. I only have this short-cut that says Adobe Flash Player.pkg and is a red box with the flash symbol on it and whenever I click it it brings me to the installation screen again. I am using a mac (just the regular non laptop one. I'm not sure exactly what it is called but I am pretty sure it has high definition somewhere in its name) and have checked the applications folders and still only find the red box that says Adobe Flash Player.pkg Please Help

The Flash Player you downloaded is a plugin for browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer, etc.).  It opens when you visit a website that has a Flash element on the page.
