If you are using Internet Explorer, then your OS (operating system) is most likely Windows.

Download the offline ActiveX installer for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe; save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

I've been downloading Adobe products for years to push out updates to our agency staff. When I recently tried to download Reader 9.40, I started getting this new screen about ActiveX and the Adobe Download Manager. Someone had posted an ftp site, and I was finally able to download it.

I just want to save the Flash Player install to our network so that I can create a script to deploy it. I don't want it installed, I don't want to use the Download Manager. Does anyone know where I can just download the latest player without all of this hassle?

I'm on WinXP SP2 using IE8.

Thanks in advance,

E Long Powell

Re: how to download flash player

All FP downloads are available from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html ""

So........I go there and download EVERYTHING they offer -- the install stuff, etc.

Then, I click "Download 10.1" and still get the same UNRESPONSIVE page -- no down load, no "try again", no "go to hell" -- nothing.

It will not download, after three days of Windows updates, register repairs, reboots, yadda-yadda.

Plain WILL NOT WORK.

Tried the download from PCWorld....won't work

Tried the download from cNet....won't work.

Tried it under IE, Mozilla, and Ununtu......won't work.

WTF ???
