When I had this problem before one of the Adobe tech support guys even had me mess around with my registry and then download something from windows for a supposed fix. Guess what? NOTHING still worked!
I finally gave up and then a few days later Youtube worked fine again.

Hi there,
Thanks for your email. We have found that turning off any third-party ad blocking or pop-up blocking softwares such as Norton AntiVirus that might be running on your computer, has resolved the issue in the past. Also, please know that this is a temporary solution while we work with our engineers to fix the issue.
In case you continue to have trouble, please do the following:
1) Check your Proxy Settings
- In IE 6 click on Tools> Internet Options.
- Go to the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to HTTP1.1 settings
- Check the box which says "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections"
- Click on "OK" and refresh the page.
2) Download the latest Flash player. To learn how to do this, visit our Help Center at http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=57669.
3) Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, Close all instances of the browser. Re-launch and try again.
If you’re having trouble with our site and have already cleared the cache and cookies, you may want to upgrade your current browser or switch to another browser to see if that remedies the problem. However, make sure that this browser has the latest version of Flash player installed.
Hope this helps,
Malyaban

Same thing for 3 weeks and using the IE. Finally, i downloaded mozilla firefox and Mozilla activeX control v1.7.12 (maybe that's what trully helped me solve the problem, really i don't know...sorry..) and after rebooting everything works fine. i can watch all the videos in youtube BUT ONLY using Mozilla, IE still doesn't works. So i don't think it's youtube's fault...

Everytime I click on the "install now" the page reloads and all I'm left with is the same page. All my JavaScripts are enabled. Can't work out if it's me or YouTube...so confusing and annoying!

I have the same viewing problem on myspace too.
Everytime I click "install now" it reloads back to the same page, and nothing is downloded. I've done every suggestion people have sugessted on this forum.
How do I get around this dowloading block?
And is it Adobe's fault, or Youtube/Myspace's?

Are you able to see Flash Player here?

If you see Flash Player installed here, Flash Player is installed and working.
The issue may be the detection method. Different sites use different detection methods.

Oops, thanks for that. They work ( quelle surprise). I'm off to annoy Youtube and ITV.
