I am having problems installing my flash player on the mac.  I have used safari, chrome, mozilla to install it and it does work.  The last time this happened, I had to install it offline.  How do I do that?

I just need to update and do not want a lot of other things that I don't know how to use, I just play games and sometimes a message comes up that says I need to update.

Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download the installer.  Depending on the operating system and browser, there may be an optional third party offering - please look for this (in the center panel) and deselect the offer.

When installing Flash Player, select the update option 'Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)'.  This opts the system into background updates (similar to how Firefox and Chrome update silently in the background).  Background Updates is the quickest way to have updates (without any third party offerings) installed on the system without user interaction required.

Please be more specific.  What 'free things' are you referring to?

You're posting to a discussion topic titled 'Mac Flash Player Update'.  The Mac installer does NOT have any third party offerings, unless  you're referring to the completion page that launches after Flash Player is installed.

To clarify, what operating system and browser are you using?  What page has the 'free things'?

Screenshots are always beneficial

And

And then I guess you have to pay for after a while. It doesn’t give me an option to opt out of this.

Flash Player is free.  There is no charge to install and use it.

Since you've not provided any of the previously requested information, I'm going to assume the page you are referring to is the Flash Player completion page that launches when Flash Player installation completes, which does contain optional offerings.  None are required to use Flash Player.  All browser's block Flash by default, so if you've installed Flash Player and still don't see Flash content,  you'll need to enable it in the browser.  See the following for assistance:
